Alice Faye was a staple of 20th Century Fox from 1935 to 1943. She was the original musical blonde bombshell. Irving Berlin was once quoted as saying he’d rather have Alice plug his songs above anyone else in the business. Notable roles include Stella Kirby in Alexander’s Ragtime Band, Lillian Russell in Lillian Russell, and Rose Sargeant in Rose of Washington Square.

Faye left her film career at the height of her popularity and soon found further success on the radio after she joined husband Phil Harris-Alice Faye Show.
